MAUI SENATE DELEGATION STATEMENTS ON APPOINTMENT OF TROY HASHIMOTO TO MAUI HOUSE SEAT

HONOLULU, Hawai'i - In response to Governor Ige's appointment of Troy Hashimoto to the Maui House District 8 seat, the Maui State Senators offered these statements:

"Troy has a wealth of experience working in both the private and public sector, so I believe he'll be able to hit the ground running here at the Legislature, which is exactly what he will need to do," said Senator Gilbert Keith-Agaran (S District 5 - Central Maui). "I commend all those who were willing to serve in this office and represent the residents of our community."

"We all know and have worked with Troy at some point in the past, so I'm confident he'll be an amiable, diligent legislative colleague as we continue to do the work of the people of Maui during these final weeks of session," said Senator Rosalyn Baker (S Dist. 6 - South and West Maui). "I think Troy is a solid addition to our Maui legislative team."

"Troy is the next generation of leadership. He has the experience needed to ensure excellent representation for his district and he knows how to be a team player," said Senator J. Kalani English (S Dist. 7 - Hāna, East and Upcountry Maui, Moloka'i, Lāna'i, and Kaho'olawe). "The Maui delegation to the Legislature is whole again and I welcome Troy as Maui's newest Representative."
